non std breather setup?look here first!

do a compression test
if ok keep an eye on oil level
oil rings can be dead without compression rings being dead
oil level going down oil rings U/S

oil control rings can gum up too. easy fix.drive car til normal temp. remove plugs squirt small amount of penetrating oil into cyl (redex was an old favorite) let sit for couple days.crank over w/ no plugs to remove oil. fit plugs and drive
sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt but easier to try first than pull down motor

I hope you are running something non-synthetic to 'run in the engine'.

That might be your problem if you've gone directly to synthetic.

I certainly wouldn't worry about it much, until after the run in period.
