Whats with the two basss fittings under the back of the plenum chamber? Emmision control perhaps?

and is there a reason that the plenum is tapered towards the back?

I wouldn't know what the two brass fittings are for, but the tapering to the back is to ensure that those cylinders get the same amount of air at the same speed as the forwards cylinders.

Looks a lot like one of those fittings is going to the fuel pressure reg, then I guess the other could be to the brake booster or the map sensor.

Yeah Daveman got it in one.. It is just a couple of outlets for manifold pressure for things like the MAP sensor, fuel regulator, boost guage (one day) and i'm also playing around with a cold idle up valve too..
