Get confirmation but i reckon it will be plenty big enough i got a 200B borg warner box in a 1200 auto tunnel and they are bulky boxes. So 180B Auto tunnel will be much bigger.

yeah i would say it is but just want to make sure i can remove th box without the motor. if i can't i may as well leave the one i have in there as its the only reason i would widen it. i'll pm u when i know for sure and let us know if u are willing to cut it up for us when u decide.... thanks andy

its plenty big enough, the only issure with getting the box off without removing the engine is the clearance backwards to the firewall. if you make the bellhousing extend straight back then taper down you will get it out easy.
but when the engine is mounted as far back as it can be, like most people do, then there isnt enough room for the box to go straight back before hitting the tunnel to get the input out of the clutch. and you cant realy tilt then engine down as its nearly touching the firewall anyway

so what im saying is, width of the tunnel has very little to do with being able to get the gearbox in and out without removing the engine

thanks for that pigdog. so with the wider tunnel i will still need to modify it slightly anyway.if i bring it straight out 3-4 inches first would that be sufficient.?????

should do, but then you wont be able to run a heater

how many times do your really plan on pulling the box out anyway?

not too worried about the heater box. the tunnel needs to be done any way as whoever did the conversion cut the sides bashed the crap out of it and just screwed a plate over the top.... it hidious. bodgy is not the word so i though while it was being done for a couple hundred and a few hours work i would do it properly.....it actually needds some gearbox work now so it is a good time to do it i guess.

why not jsut start of with a new flywheel, top of range exedy or extreme clutch and, make sure the gearbox is in working order and u will be fine.. and wont have to take the box out eva again.. lol

i had a standard heavy duty and thought that be fine.. 1month and one hard lauch and meltd all 8puks..

take my advice and do it first...

also i keptd the standard tunnel.. it is not that hard to get out, even when u widing the tunnel ur still gotta take the rad and intercooler out to get the engine out.. trust me, i have taken my engine out 5times now.. lol modifing sucks balls

any advicce.. u can ask me.. i have done it already and no wat needs to be done..
