Just took my A14 apart and the pistons are fried. They're 79mm full floating flat-top with valve reliefs. I need to source some but haven't come up with anything yet. I'd prefer forgies but would settle for cast. Anyone know where to look?

The same edge on all four has started to melt a little. Funny thing is it's on the side opposite the plugs.

I'd put those pistons back in. You just need to solve your lean/detonation problem so that they don't get worse.
The carbon is totally burned off that side of the piston. Is the engine pinging? Is there a vacuum leak?

I don't know the history of the engine... it's not just the carbon though... it's the metal itself that's being comprimised... Anyone else think I should slap them back in? Cause I'd really love to so I don't end up spending big $$$
