Thought I would post a few pics of my project,
Aim is to race the car in Marque class circuit racing here in South Africa, rules as follows: 100% street legal 1975 and older rear wheel drive Full interiour Street tires Only of era drive line modifications alowed (nothing to crazy either) No body work modifications out of era / taste of classic cars
Basicaly a street car that near stock with a modded motor and crazy driver (absolutely no touching alowed). We race on a handicap system which is a good thing because I am up against a hose of 911's, Alfa's, Lotus Cortina's, Lotus 7's ectr.
Project will start off with all driveline work and then be stripped once the combo is working and will have a full body restore.
I will post the mods as they go, but here are some pics with the first throw together A15 I used to test the combo and see if it was going to be enough power. (there are some video's on youtube if you search for rezlo33)
Datsun beat all the others cars on her first outing and really surprised me with its ease of handeling and good cornering ability on the mildly work suspension, Datsun did a 1.25.1 Lotus Cortina 1.26.0 Dart 1.28.5 911 1.29.1 and so on so I was very happy with its performance even though the 5sp box got locked into 4th on the last lap and put me out of the points, lucky it was just a bolt on the selector shaft that rattled loose.

The slightly stuffed A15 (typical of the rubbish import motors we get in South Africa)

This is an awesome engine.
I find just as much satisfaction building an engine and starting it up than I do driving it!
That colour is really cool too. It's a very subtle, calm colour completely contradicting the true strength of the engine (and it's performance internals).
Great stuff mate.

Is the A15 acceptable to the organisers? Would hate for you to build it up to be told you can't use it. Try for some more negative camber on the front, also. You can do this 3 ways, either extend the lower control arms (use 4 to make 2), redrill the front crossmember to move the lower control arm out, or get the strut bent. The Neg camber will stop the car running on the shoulder of the tyre & make it last longer. Maybe a set of sway bars to stop it leaning so much. You could also try to get more castor on the front end. This causes the outside tyre to "Fall Over" & gives negative camber. Some people just extend the thread down the stock castor arm, or you could try getting Urethane bushes & machining down the front bush so it's thinner than normal. This would bring the front wheels forward, giving extra castor. If you did this you'd also have to shorten the sleeve the bushes sit on. This would be something you'd do at a wheel alignment shop, so you could sneak upon it. PS make sure the centre cam bearing that has the hole feeding the rocker gear doesn't turn, I've had this happen & it's lead to having to completely rebuild the top end, because of not enough oil to the rocker gear, which seizes.

Thx guys, dont worry ill post up all the suspension stuff, yes I can run a A15 because its from the manufacturer, same layout, same technology ectr.
Head ported to the exact Tomei M gasket(dowled as well to make sure manifold lines up 100%)
Tomei .8mm head gasket, ARP head bolts and tomei dual spings with B-projects retainers, collars, push rods and valve seats Sort the top end out.
Rowland DCOE 40 manifold took a full weekend to get any where near usable, viper exhaust manifold was used with internal and external ceramic coating also after a large amount of modification.
ballanced 2.98kg cromoly flywheel to let her rev up nicely

Hey Mike,
Do you think Rez's extractors look like they'd clear a B10 engine bay?
