Hey guys, looking at buying a 1k 2 door sedan in New Zealand. these are pretty rare cars over here, I've only ever seen 2 for sale and one other in a magazine article (there's obviously more than 3 though!). I was just wanting to know from some of you 1k experts on parts availability for these-eg balljoints, tierods, window rubbers, bushes, shocks etc. Are bits like these still available in aussie?? or is it ebay NOS thats keeping all you guys on the road?? (my in-laws live in aussie so getting bits sent over isn't a problem) Cheers

With a bit of research anything i have required over the years can be found, made or modified to work.New lower ball joints are around, tops are not, they have to be rebuilt by the pro's,any bushes...make them out of nolathane,shocks...take your compressed-extended length to a suspension retailer and have them give you a list of cars others the same dimensions come off(i use Holden Rodeo) on the rear,Vauxhall Victa/Early Torana will fit the front once you push out thier bottom mounting bracket and re fit the 1K bracket.I could go on but won't.
Just buy the thing,do it up nicely and enjoy one of Japans best lightweights that strangly came out of thier truck factory, probabbly why you can't kill them.

Enjoy

Zama Zama Zama yes built with higher quality steel as well.
Window winders are rarely bad but if so you can find other
mechanism from other cars fit or can be modded.
Rubbers are available from third party vendors and everything
else as Bert mentioned is just a little research.
Simple cars one of the best
