Zoom did an article on modifying the CA18DET engine, and compared pro's and cons of turbo's
off other nissan cars.

Also Fast fours latest mag had a 1200 coupe with a SR20DET from kiwi land.....does it belong to anyone
in the club??

Yes the article on the CA18DET was interesting,
but I think it reflected the views of the guy they were interviewing rather than their own views.
(from other articles I've read it seems clear that the zoom team prefers the SR20DET in terms of performance/
engineering)

Someone mentioned the owner of the SR20DET in Fast Fours is Ben Cox, but I don't think he's a member of this
club unfortunately.

I just returned from the SCCA races in Memphis, Tennessee. There were three 1200's there. A guy named Webber kicked butt in the GT5 class. My friend and club member, Peter Zekert, ran
second and his friend, Brad ran 3rd in the National race today. I didn't get to see any of the local club GT5 races yesterday as it was in the afternoon before I got to the track (400
mile drive to get there). I did get the head from Peter that needs a valve seat replaced but the head has some very large valves in it and inner and outer springs. It should make an A-
series motor sit up and take notice. I took three rolls of film and I should have them developed in a couple of days, I will post some of the best shots of the 1200's. I cruised the Chevy
truck with a 350 LT1 motor, 80 MPH all the way there and back and got 22.8 MPG for the trip which included a trip into downtown Memphis for some blues music on Saturday night. All in all,
a wonderfully fun weekend.

Congrats to Peter Zekert for coming 2nd. Sounds like it would have been a fun day out at old Memphis Tennesee. Is that close to were they make JD Whisky? Just out of curiousity.
Hope to see some of the pics soon!

The Jack Daniels distillery is in Lynchburg, Tennessee. That is about 130 miles from me. Memphis is 400. The conversion for MPG to LPK is 3.8 liters = 1 gallon and 1 mile = 1.6 K
so that would come up to around 9 K per liter. The motor is 5.7 L with an automatic at just under 3000 Kilograms. I do not have a calculator to convert this so I may be off a bit
with the comversions.
