Ok, I had a chat to my main rival in gymkhana, he runs a A14 and in quite good state of tune with the E15 dizzy in it.

He said that the A series dizzy gear fits over the shaft of the E series dizzy.

This means that I'm correct in not finding the roll pin to remove the slotted piece on the E series dizzy.

It boils down to the following:
Measure the distance between the gear on the A series
Remove A series gear (remove roll pin)
Fit A series gear on E series, by means of drilling hole and fasten with roll pin
Fit A series adjuster bracket to E series
Pop it in, wire and hope all is good.

I would have payed R800 for the ignitor, the ignitors we get in SA is the once that you need to use the normal coil with ballast resistor.

I payed R350 for dizzy and elec coil. Throw in a set of new Spark leads and we are looking at R500 for the conversion. Not bad I reckon.

Ag damn, I did pay R700 for it a couple of years ago.
Must have waited until you got on the site to do this conversion as well and get better spark at the same time.

I am thinking of making my spark plug gaps bigger too, let's say, 1mm.
Do you think it will make a improvement or not really.

On a street motor I do not believe it will make a huge improvement. On a highly tuned motor I think this will start to show signs of improvements. On a turbo motor I know a lot of guys install high output coils and massively thick spark leads, but that is a different story.

But the spark plug, coil and leads issue is a big unknown for me, would not mind doing the research one day, or if some could start a wiki article explaining the difference, pros and cons between hot-cold plugs, normal and high output coils, and spark leads.

Normally what you gather from forums on the subject is that guys install it to show his buddies his is thicker, longer or it shines.
