I posted some photos of the SCCA races last weekend in Memphis, Tennessee. The # 63 car has front struts from a 1979 280 ZX. There is about a 2 inch (50mm)spacer between the ball joints and
the struts to make up the difference in lenght of the shorter ZX struts. The stock swing arms and ball joints were used. The spring set was removed and the adjustable spring set installed.
Spacers are used to set the wheels outward a bit more but that would not be needed with street wheels.
Webber's # 83 is a very well made car and the fastest of the three 1200's there. I should have taken more technical puctures and I will next time. Especially, I should have gotten at least one
picture the little quick change rear end in Peter's #20.
El Stupido Grande (that's me, if you didn't know) forgot one roll of film that has the pictures of he 1200 I got from Peter about a month ago. I found a roll of film today and wondered what it
was and when I picked up my pictured this afternoon, I know I had screwed up and hadn't put the roll in to be developed. I'll get them done by next week. I may have a picture of the quick
change rear on that roll of film.
I put a picture of my 1200 (Mareo Speedwagon VI) that I have had for the past ten years in the last photo. It has been setting for a while now but I start it about once a month. It has about a
90 HP A14 in it with a Holley downdraft 2 Bbl carb and the dogleg 5-speed. It gets 43 MPH cruising at 70 MPH and 65 MPG when I cruise it at 50 MPH and it tops out at around 115 MPH, not too
bad. It isn't in quite as bad of condition as it looks. The glass was broken out by kids. I would love to find some aluminum 13 inch wheels for the front similar to the 280Z wheels on the
rear. If anyone knows of any, please let me know. I could also use a couple of more of the 14 inch wheels for the rear of the new 1200 I have. I don't know if Datsun made 13 wheels that are
similar. They are a lot like the original 12 inch hubcaps. There is a bit of rust around the front bumper mounting but no rust holes in the body. Thanks for this club because it has made parts
available to me that were non-existant before. I will have both running and looking good by next year. I picked up a 80 HP A14 this week to build for MS VI. ENJOY YOUR 1200.........

Great photos Mareo. I can't wait to see more. I am really keen to get a look at Peter's chassis. About the spacers on the struts they allow the stub axle to sit higher
hence lowering the car without compromising the bottom arms geometry.Otherwise running short struts and a super low chassis will screw up your front end settings.

Hey, Mareo
I wish I had gotten to see that race. My wife and I drive to Tennessee every May-June to visit her family in Nashville.(My wife and I live in California.) Too bad I missed the race.I
dont suppose there will happen to be another 1200 race in June? Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Where do you guys find replacement windshields for your 1200 coupes?I have tried all the glass
shops in town but no luck. I even have the Nissan dealer making a few calls to see if he can find one.

Fellow racer Rob Walker found a supply for the 1200 coupes. Try "WalkerR@nctssd.navy.mil". If this is out of date for Rob, e-mail me at home "PeterZekert@Juno.Com" or call me 314-
291-8441 and I'll hook you up. Afterwards, we'll post the information. Peter
PS, If you ever find a new rear valance, I'd love to make a fiberglass mold.

Thanks for the info, Peter. I emailed Rob today. I ll let you know if I hear from him or not. This is a great club. I had always wanted a Datsun 1200 coupe ever since back in 1986 when my
buddy had one. It was a 1971 1200 coupe, and I rember all those fun Friday nights back then when we would take the coupe out for a night on the town, and the buddy had the habit of sliding
the coupe and smoking the rear tires around every street corner. I didnt get around to getting my own 1200 coupe until last year.(see my photos in the LINKS
section under SMJ's 1200 coupe).you will see a good windshield on the car but I cracked the w/s trying to get it out of the stubborn rubber gasket.Thats the reason I m looking for another
w/s. I ve learned a lot from this club. I would never have been able to get this far without all the helpful info in this message board.
