If you had asked this a few weeks ago Linc I probably could have told you everything. I picked up my A15 out of an 83 Vanette and most of the plumbing was intact. I try to keep everything in place when I rip it out of a car for that reason. Sadly I pulled all the inlet off just recently to see how the injectio0n manifold looked. Why don't you talk nicely to the local Nissan dealer and see if you can get a copy of the applicable section from one of their workshop books or microfische.

I >try to keep everything in place when I rip it out > You dont happen to be parting out the rest of this vanette are you fester? I would like the front stub axles, hubs and calipers if you are :) I've been investigating fitting those ventilated disks on my 1000, it looks like the might fit. James.

Sorry James it was a wrecker car so I only took the motor. I am actually waiting on a price for them for a friend of mine. He is looking at that same conversion.

My brother has a Datsun 1000 2 door sedan. We have been trying to put disc brakes on the front as they come with drums all round as you would already know. A mate of mine has a 1000 the same but he has 120y discs on his. We had a look to see if we could put them on ours but the caliper affected the steering in each way if you mounted the caliper at the front or back. It would either hit the body or the sway bar(120Y) which we put on it. I havn't had a look at my mates car since we looked at puting them on ours as he hasn't been around for me to look at how it is put on his. If you know of any disks that fit on quite easily I would definately like to know.

I'm glad I'm not the only one out there trying to do this conversion. Ideally I'd really like ventilated front disks, and decent sized calipers, because I intend on putting a turbo A15 in my coupe. I've been told (but I haven't confirmed it) that a nissan C20 vanette hub and calipers work. If this is true they'd be perfect, because they are big, ventilated, and cheap. I've spoken to Datspeed in Penrith, they do lots of brake conversions on 1600's 240z's etc, and they said if I could bring in a 1000 stub axle they could find something to fit. So I'm trying to find a wrecked 1000 to pull a stub axle and hub out of. I'll keep you informed when I do figure it out though. James.
