Sorry to bring this topic up again, i have a question to ask. Coz you have bored it out to 120 thou, if you were to put the a15 crank back in it, what cc's would you be looking at here, just curious to know how much they differ. What size could you also bore out the motor out to. Would 1600-1700cc's be out of the question. If you can do this what size would you have to bore it to in approx. thou. Has any one done it. Is it a reliable motor and is it worth doing for the extra power? One other question, which cam in this sorta situation would be best suited to a supercharger? Superchargers already increase the motors torque but would the a14 crank help it to produce more power or would it more likely be the a15 crank.

Heya Anthony. If i were to put the A15 crank in my engine the total CC would be around the 1610cc mark. Mines about 1510cc at the moment with 120thou overbore. 140thou is the biggest u can safely go and with an A15 crank u can get to about 1630cc. I have heard of a stroker A15 crank that was supposed to give it about 1700cc. By my calculations, the crank would have to be about 86mm with 140thou overbore. Thats a 4mm longer than the A15 crank and 9mm longer than the A14 crank! Probably would be a very torquey engine and a redline of 5000rpm!! I personally think 1700cc is out of range for the A series. As for the supercharger, im not really sure on which crank to use. The A14 crank would be good with a turbo but i think a supercharger would work well with both cranks. And the cam i wouldnt have a clue about either!! Just a lot of trial and error i guess. Scott Davo

Anthony have you actually mounted a supercharger yet to your motor. I am thinking of putting one on an A15 but the length of it is a little bit of a hassle. It looks to me like it would have to be mounted really high on teh drivers side so it is above and clears the dizzy. Or maybe on teh passenger side low but I don't really want it near the exhaust. Have you got that far yet. Anyone else done one. I am talking about the Toyota superchargers.
