probably 195/50 x 15's would work.ive got 195/60 x 14's on my sunny,& they're pretty close to the stock diameter,except i have a 4.6:1 diff in it,so the speedo's out to buggery.

might have to fold the lip of the guard so it doesn't cut the tyre.i've had 205/60 x 14's on the back of a sunny sedan, but i never finished that car to see how much they hit.they went alright on my sunny panel van, however.don't know about the front, though,as i've got a redrilled front crossmember & 200b steering arms, which increase the front track.the 195's fit under the guards with slight flaring.

I might buy new shock absorbers before I replace my wheels

It's not so much the rim size thats important, but more the tire size. In order to ensure that i get the right sizes fir my car, i abandon the concept of running one size all round & my front tyres have been smaller than the rear for the last 28 years on every car i have owned.

I do not know the original tyre size for your Sunny, so i can't look up the outside diameter, but the 205 x 60 x 15 is listed at an outside diameter of 602mm & i suspect that this diameter will foul on your inner guards when you turn. It might be OK for the rear, but probably not for the front.
If you post your original tyre size, i will offer up recomendations.

The 205 x 60 x 15 was DESIGNED for a 5 1/2" wide rim, & the permissable rim width range is from 5 1/2" right out to 8", although it would probably look a bit silly on anything wider than 7"

!000's, 1200's & 120Y models used a 12" tyre that measured 552mm OD & a 185 x 60 x 13 matches this exactly, so on a 5 1/2" or 6" rim, these are recomended for those models for street use. I use 205 x 60 x 13 on the rear & these measure 576mm OD

Replacing worn shocks is always a good move.
Chris

155 x 80 x 13? My book doesnt seem to list that one. There was a 78 series, but i don't recall seeing an 80 series. Never mind, i will give it my best shot.
I think the 155R13 was a 78 series & that should be close enough. This tyre is listed at 580mm, so i would suggest keeping the front tyre diameter at, or below this size.
My 1988 book does not show all the current sizes, but it says that a 195 x 50 x 15 is 577mm in diameter & if you can find, & better yet, afford this size, then it will look real good on the front. This size was designed for a 5 1/2" rim & 6" would be my upper recomendation with the 5 1/2" prefered.

As for rears, remember that tyre diameter is also gearing, so as you increase the diameter, you also jack up the gearing. Depending on how much your engine has been "improved" your rear tyre selection can be a bit more liberal. In fact, your limitation may well be the size of your wheel wells, but something up to 600mm diameter should not be too much of a problem.
In 15", you could have a look at 215 x 50 x 15 at 597mm [probably best] or 225 x 50 x 15 at 607mm, but i am inclined to think that you might have problems fitting even the smaller of these two due to the width. The secret will be in using wheels with the right amount of offset to get them in. Both of these are designed for a 6" rim.
I used a 205 tyre on my B10 & they fit OK with only the occasional rub.

For lower cost alternatives, you might think about 14" sizes in 60 profile.
Let me know what you think as these tyres might be a bit hard to find & / or a bit costly.
Check what Falken has to offer by getting a couple of brochures fron a tyre dealer. These brochures list the outside diameters.
Chris
P.S. The 205 x 50 x 15 tyre is listed at 587mm & are designed for a 5 1/2" rim. Just because a tyre is listed in my book, it is not a guarantee that that size is available & all sizes are nominal within a range of about + or - 2mm
