Isn't Stanza an L series motor? Do they have the same fuel pumps?

If so would any L series motor do?

..just check and yep it is L series - also discovers that it was an engine built to Mercedes design...interesting.

'tis a myth. Mercedes design? I have heard this rumour for a long time.

But yes, only A12 fuel pumps fit A12s... good for almost any sort of power short of turbo or in excess of 7000 rpm...then you can use an electric fuel pump

The Mercedes thing comes from the L Series wiki page...

"Prince was licensed to produce copies of the four and six-cylinder engines. Prince Motor Company later refined the design such that it no longer needed licensing. The engine still resembles a Mercedes in many ways, particularly the valve train"

The wiki sounds incorrect. Considering that the L-series came out before prince Merged with Nissan, what is says makes no sense.

Now if the Prince OHC engine was license from Mercedes I can believe that.

The grand prix racers in japan used the Nismo electric fuel pump. I'm not aware of any "high volume" mechanical pump for the A12.

The only way your could use the L series fuel pump would be if you can swap the cam arms between it & the appropriate A series pump. You'd probably have to drill out the pivot pin as they put balls in each side & peen them in. The earlier A12 fuel pumps could get the pivot pin out, but I think you need the later pump with the longer arm. It could be done, it just needs a bit of homework to find a replacement pin after you've drilled the old one out. The stud spacing is the same with the 2 pumps, as I've used blank off plates from Series 2 Bluebirds on A series engines when I've removed the mechanical fuel pump. I dont think you could just fit an L series pump with the original arm, as it's so long it'd probably hit the bottom of No 2 piston.
