As you guys know I have a L20b in my datto, but we wanted more power and I started by getting all the parts for the head I got stuck when it came to the sub. I wanted to fit VG30 Piston but for that I needed a conrod of about 151mm to about 152mm. I found them at 1st I wanted to keep it a secret but thats not what the datto forum is about. So I got my hands on a set of Childs Albert 6inch alloy rod from a 327cui chevy and they will do the job with only minor mods. Rated at over a thousend hp with a V8 piston on them I cant see my datto ever breaking those. Hope this info helps as I have searched the net and this seems to be a first for this combo. Thanx

I take it they're a little wide and need some machining?

Why not just use the L-series conrod? They can take 175 HP.

Vg30 piston isnt as heavy and you get them in a hi comp over the counter. With using a vg piston I needed a longer rod L series rod is around 146mm and I need 152mm. In doing it this way the rod ratio is also a bit better than standard L 20 thus running hi rpm becomes a bit safer.

i always throught shorter stroke and larger bore were better for high rpm, not long stroke large bore? better for mid ramge and low rpm.
