I'm trying to stay away from forced induction, but i can get my hands on an SR20DE with auto gearbox, i would of course change it to manual, or i was wondering about older bluebird motors??

Naw, my FJ20T went straight in with only minor mods to the engine mounts...
Later model sunny with square headlights is better - more room to fit the intercooler in front of the radiator!!!

I'm thinking of getting SR20DE swap on my sunny 81 sedan model
and get a manua/auto gearbox
I would prefer manual but gf only drives automatic (gets really handy when you're drunk!)
anyone knows where I can take my car for this conversion in brisbane area?

I gotta tell you don't go auto, you'll lose all the fun. Why not a turbo?? doesn't matter go SR20DE and get the Stanza front crossmember and suspension it will bolt into a Sunny they're identical, this will be needed to fit an SR then you need minor mods to the mounts on the crossmember to correctly align with the rubber mounts on the block. I did it myself..... stop thinking go do it. If you can't afford an SR or CA go get an L series it bolts straight onto the Stanza crossmember,,,,,just one problem Sunny's have Cable clutch not Hydraulic,,,,go figure
