what diff is this?

its in my 1200 ute but unsure what diff it actually is? i also have a 120y tailshaft can this be used in the ute?

after looking through the wiki im thinking it could be a h165. can you use a 120y tailshaft with the ute h165 setup?

looks like a h145, if the 120y tailshaft suits that diff and it was from a manual car then yes it can be used. the ute h165 is stronger though

alright thanks yea i measured the axels and now think it is a h145. ill have a look arounf for a h165 because im putting an a14 in and the h145 cant handle the extra torque if im correct?

Measured the axles? The H165 1200 axles and H145 1200 axles measure different?

1200 utes come with H165.

H145: 54mm (2-1/8 in)
H165: 62mm (2-1/2 in)'

what are the tubes? i assumed axels

also read somewhere in wiki pre 75 the utes also used h145?

tubes would be the axle tubes, part of the diff housing

and DD the axle thickness would obviously measure up different between 145 and 165

h145 will handle an A14 if you dont give it to hard of a time. and yes early utes did have h145s in them

H165 from a ute has the lug for the rear brake splitter on the left, that looks to be a H145/150 diff from either a 120y or 1200. Does the 120y tailshaft line up on all bolt holes and fit snug on the centre ring.

thanks guys ill check the ring tomorrow but it looks like it will be fine with the lining up of the bolts and ring, although it didnt seem to go into the gearbox very easily ...any tricks with that?
