been wanting to do a thread on the rally car for a while, for some build up but also to update with photos and vids to show what me and my brother have been up to

i will try to get bunch of stuff going along with writing some event stories, hopefully people will find it interesting and inspiring

last weekend we raced rally Bonnie Doon, my brother (Leeham) was driving, unfortunately he was quite sick with a cold and found it difficult, we ended up 33rd outright and 3rd in class

but heres a good fun video, look for us (car 40) at around 6 minutes putting on a good show for the spectators

Looks great. 3rd in class is not bad. What is the class? 1600cc and under?

class is "A" class for 1400cc and under, there was four in the class
there was about 60 cars in the rally

cam is really old, i had it in my red coupe years and years ago, it was pretty much a mild street cam, nothing rediculous as we wanted low down torque in the rally car

the entry to the corner prior to the spectator point was probably the best on the vid.... and we wernt worst on the spectator corner, earlier in the day that corner was used and an escort rolled

Raced on the weekend, out near ballarat in wombat forest

second time with a new navigator, my brother doesnt navigate for me anymore

first time earlier this year we race in the challenge of clubs and we placed 4th outright (2nd 2wd) of approx 50 cars

on the weekend we placed 5th outright of 30 cars (again 2nd 2wd)
this event was run under AASA instead of CAMS, and was the first AASA rally event in Victoria. was run quite well and we had good fun, we started at the back and passed a couple of cars along the way. there was all sorts of conditions; rain, fog, mud, clay, loose, hard. was quite good, had to be quick to react to changing surfaces

only one pic, and we pretty much missed this corner, (which left?)

Well not a lot has happened on the rally front until last weekend, i missed the the one 2 races ago due to a wedding and the last one was cancelled due to excess rain spoiling the forest roads

Last weekend with my brother driving we placed 7th outright and 1st in class, quite happy with that. Actually since the first rally this year we purchased new rally tires for the first time ever, that has made a massive difference! We also bought a car trailer, so we wont be needing to borrow trailers anymore woot!

forgot to say, those two pics are from the same corner, i actually have a series of about 8 going around there

there is a couple of videos on youtube of the rally search "marysville stages vcrs" if interested

the event i was at wedding my bro drove and had a friend of ours navigate, who unfortunately got quite sick doing so.... so we laughed at him

me and my brother built the car and he has been driving the championship events this year which means i haven't had many drives. It was my chance last year, with me doing the majority of the driving we won the class championship, we are in front again this year and with one event left should win as long as we finish.

Anyways it's been a lot of fun, i havent driven with new tires yet but can tell from the nav seat it's gonna be awesome, havent really got upgrades planned for this x-mas, though we have quad throttle bodies sitiing waiting for a good ecu to run them one day
