Yeah mate, I put one in my 1000 coupe. My mates helped out alot with the modifacations, go1200 in particular. I reckon I could answer just about any questions you could think of.

My conversion overall in my 1000 was successful, its not super quick but a quick street car in its own right. In a 1200 im not so sure it would be the best path to go down, remember mine is boosted. With a little research you will find that there are many more efficent conversions for a 1200.

What I mean is, it may cost the same $ to put a g13b in your 1200 than a ca18det or sr20 atmo and the power difference will be significant. Not to mention the stuff you can buy from maddat to save alot of work and in my case money, doing things twice and three times.

But, if your keen on the g13b? It's a cool engine and im your man if you have any questions.

There's a bit more to it but if your handy you will work it all out. My dizzy cost around $700 to be converted to right angle drive. If you find the right engineer you might get an aftermarket ecu with a crank trigger passed.

If your going drive it hard or plan on making power, you need to get a sierra flywheel. I had mine lightened becuase its much heavier than gti. Front wheel drive exhuast was not even close on my 1000, could not even cut it up and make it fit for a test start. Brakes, diff, driveline, wirring are all givens.

You can find a bit of info on redlinegti.com. Blokes do this conversion to sierra's.

thanx mate this weekend we sorted the engine mounts out and you wouldnt believe the standard datsun mounts bolt straight to the swift motor all we need to do now is modify the distributor and thermostat housing.
