does anybody on this site run it
and what are the real costs involved for a conversion
i like the idea but would it not be worth the costs compared to twin webers?

Are you talking mechanical injection hillborn etc. or electronic?

I think the cheapest way out would be custom manifold with motobike efi throttle bodies, still probably with tuning messing around etc. you'd be close price wise to a well setup pair of webers.

oh right.
i saw throttle bodies that basicly bolted to
a webber manifold
EFI i guess but the time you add fuel pumps computer and bits
it would be hell expensive.

doesnt have to be that expensive, if you go the efi hardware or similar route then it does actually HAVE to be expensive

but GSXR throttle bodies on a custom manifold with a megasquirt wouldnt be that expensive, its not like webbers are that cheap after you get some, then rebuild them, get a manifold and linkages and then get them tuned to suit

Yea that was what i was kind of thinking about the webbers it would be close to 1500-2000 for a full complete setup + profesional tuning

would it be better spent on efi????????????

yeah i have been wieghing up the twin webber or EFI options for my Z24 and im thinking EFI is going to be cheaper depending on an ECU and as PIGDOG says easy step towards turbo once its EFI

I'm so glad I went efi, sure the initial setup cost may have been a few hundred dollars more than webers but I probably saved that and more by not having to buy jets/linkages and stuff and getting someone to tune it. The car starts perfectly every time and runs like a train, I haven't had to touch anything to do with the engine or injection for the last 2 years.
I was looking at throttle bodies off a motorbike for a while since I already had a manifold for motorbike carbs, but am glad I decided to go with the efi hardware throttle bodies. They make setting it all up very easy.
