I dont think they are the same. I have tried a few switches from the other boxes I have. The reverse lights come on 1 through 5 forward gears and turn off when in reverse.

In most boxes the Switch pointer tip will be in contact with the selector rod and move off the ramp, when reverse is selected.

In my case, the selector rod comes into contact with the switch when reverse is selected. [Reverse being top left position, the selector rod moves rearward]

Most switches are typically "open cct" type so I hoping that there is a "closed cct" type somewhere.

edit: pic showing the ramp on the end of the selector shaft on the 1st /Reverse gear assembly.

DD. The url points to listings for the 56 series. Is there one specific to the 60 series. I trawled through the WIKI over the weekend with no result. The part number must be somewhere....

in that case, if the proper switch is hard to find, i think you can use a relay that has the normally on function...
