http://www.cyclonepower.com/works.html

Truck like torque so no gearbox required and can run on almost
anything that burns even used fish and chip oil with no filtering.

They had these in the 1950s. Petrol engine is more efficient.

I love this stuff :) Do you know if they've done any other practical tests with it other than generate electricity? ..like say connecting it to some wheels ;) :P

There's the rub. The previous versions wouldn't run smoothly over a rev range and variety of load levels (which is what a car engine needs)...

Its been a while since 1975 they seem to have many awards for their latest incarnation.
I would mind it as I can get about 12 gallons of oil from one small club that cooks chips
every sunday for a hungry Aussie rules (mutant Irish rules hand and foot ball) crowd.

Yes people here get the free used cooking oil and run it in Datsun diesels. Cheaper than the Cyclone Super Heat Exchanger.

And I was wrong about the efficiency. The better ones are 42% efficient, while petrol engines are only in the 30s.

Wonder how long it takes to warm up and get moving?
