stock engines are l24 6 cylinders and l18 4 cylinders
What's the power output of these stock cars?

They OK - just think of them as a 'big 1600'. In Aus they were only available with the L24 6cyl. 130bhp. The engines respond very well to the normal mods - comp, cam, carbs, exhaust. V8 conversions are also reasonably common and easily approved in QLD - I've got one with a 4.4l Leyland/Rover Alloy V8 and Supra 5spd

There was a short nose Jap version with the L18 4 cyl, but thankfully we didn't get it. There was also a GTR Skyline version with a twin cam 24v 6cyl in Jap that we missed out on

I think they're the best looking Skyline and I'd love to own one. They're way too expensive over here though.

Good onya Razor. is it the light metallic blue one from ozdat?

They've got the L24 six cylinder, so the L26 and L28 motors bolt in. Like the A series, the numbers represent capacity. Heads and internal parts are interchangeable too, and there are some heads that are better for performance than others, but I don't know the codes off the top of my head.

Front struts are interchangeable with most other Datsun struts, and the coupe should have the twin spot front brakes that are commonly used as an upgrade for lighter 4cyl Datsuns. They're not great on the heavier 240K, and probably the best value upgrade is the popular Verada blank disc/Commodore caliper. But you can also use the later (larger) 240K disc on the standard hub with a 260Z twin spot caliper, but it's not a great improvement.

There is a bolt in rear disc upgrade from the MR30 Skyline.

Try the Classic Z forums, there are a few C110 Skyline (sounds much better than 240K) owners there and even the Z owners have some appreciation for them. Just remember that it is a Z car forum.

and Ozdat has a couple of K owners too.

Yes thats the one!
its unregistered, its auto, and the gearbox needs some work on it as having problem reversing... very difficult to move back. I was thinking replacing it with manual of course. I can take the 240, 260, 280 Z gearbox right? would like the twin carby too from these cars.
L24, L26 and L28 is from 240Z, 260Z and 280Z
Do you know where I can get some parts for 240K as I dont think the local wreckers will have these car

I saw the pics - it looks really good, and very reasonable price. Good buy I reckon.

Yep, you can use any of the normal long gearboxes. The early 240Z boxes had a flange fitting (like at the front of the diff) rear instead ot the normal slide in yoke, but they're pretty scarce these days anyway. 240Z and 260Z 2 seaters should have better ratios than the normal L series box's, with taller 1st and 2nd gears, but they'll be alot more expensive too, and for a road car it's not really a big deal. the 2+2 Zcars and 280Z just have normal ratios, but some wreckers might want a bit too much for them being sports cars. A 240K or C210 Skyline 5 spd is the same and may be cheaper at those places. Trading post should turn up some heap boxes.

And maybe get onto the Z Car Club or Allan Stean at the Z Car Workshop about the carbs and box. Dave at Cruzin Auto Spares at Nambour is the guru on Ks - he is a gun rally driver and regularly has his 240K rallycar (or 4 door Z as he like to call it) in amongst the 4WD turbo cars in the outright results!!! I don't have any numbers on me, but I can get them if you can't find them.

If you're on the northside, I bought some parts from Kelly's wrecking - they've got five or six Ks in the yard, and Narangba wreckers might have some too.

I'm not positive if it's bolt on but I've seen plenty C110's with Z31 struts which makes the R32/33/34 and Z32 brakes bolt right on the front. These are great brakes and would be worth looking into for a heavier car such as this.
