Just wondering if I have bitten off too much again. I am trying to remove the dash and loom for transplant into the UTE. OK so the dash in abut 100mm longer but i figure I can do some reshaping to get around that. My bigger problem is getting the Loom out in one piece - It was a circle until I removed the user modifications (electric mirrors and windows).

The problem is that the wires that go thru the firewall have big honkin plugs on them that won't go thru the original holes.

option 1: Cut the loom on both sides and attempt to rejoin
option 2: Hack at the EXA with an angle grinder to make BIG hole on both sides and feed the loom thru

I am leaning to option 2 but thought that I would ask if there are experiences out there.

The big honkin plug -- you should be able to squeeze it and push or pull it through the firewall. It will go one direction easier than the other.

if you have look at your plug some times you can detach the connections from the plastic housing using a very small flat blade screw driver.
if you can my suggestion would be to take a photo of the plug from both side so you can see were the wires belong.

Yeah it's the drivers' side that is the challenge, I got the passenger side out ok and all the ends have been tagged for reconnection. looks like I have to take off the front qtr panel to maneuver it all

Its out. thanks DD i just needed to take it easy.

Now i have an EXA with no loom, no engine, no seats, no carpet, no brakes, no dash, no pedals, no brake booster or hydraulic clutch. And I will be keeping the wheels. hmmm not much left

Hey Tommo .... do you still want the rest? otherwise i will let her go on the EXA club site - you can come over and have a look before a final decision if you like - just PM me and I will give you the details.
