La Ninia isn't new, its just the counter weather pattern to El Ninio, produced by oscillations in warm and cold ocean currents in the pacific ocean.

From Wiki "El Ninio/La Ninia conditions have occurred at two- to seven year intervals for at least the past 300 years, but most of them have been weak. There is also evidence for strong El Niño events during the early Holocene epoch 10,000 years ago.[64]"

Anyway I have family in Ipswich, my best wishes go out to all affected by these floods.

they arent strategic in anyway- its poor planning from the original settlers in those areas over 100 years ago. prime agricultural land but if you look at the geology and geography- prime flood plains when such extreme weather occurs.

Still doesnt detract from the hardship people are going to face and thats the part thats going to hurt them and us all. We are talking about people and their families and liveliy hoods here, not some rubbish policitcal anti governement scare thories.

I know a heap of people in a lot of the affected areas through our motor sport games,most of which work on the land who have lost everything including thier topsoil.So my message to all of you is to stop spending money on your toys as you will need it to pay for any remaining fresh food(not that the producers will see it)in the supermarkets both beef and fruit and veg.We have been totally trashed up here and it will take years to recover and a lot will simply walk away,but there is nothing strategic about any of it!

Natural disasters suck big time. (We had a ripper a few months back)
I barely see the news most days, but I've seen enough and heard the radio enough to know that looks like a great place not to be.
