Brakes are easy for 12inch rims if you so wish no need to look at other makes
especially FWD. The datsun 1200 coupes front brakes pretty much bolt straight
up if you use the sigma caliper brackets modded to mount the 1200 or 120y calipers
but I found Sigma GE discs & calipers are worth the effort if buying new rotors and
running 13 inch rims. No need to tell the engineer the caliper bracket was modded.
You might be in luck with the CR10de without engineering if the mounts look
factory enough, you have to somehow retain all the pollution gear and stay
within the necessary capacity limits.
The CR10De might have the longer rods so the cr14de crank could
be a drop in item taking it up to a cr13de with "cr10" on the block.
However 71mm bores taken 1mm+ overbore will make it 1348cc.
Not running air con & power steering pumps will bring power up.
If no pollution gear... you already know lpg is a goer but there is something
very special about the 1000 tudor/fodoors in that the original fuel tank sit
behind the rear seat. This means like another member has proven in a 1000 that an
70l LPG tank will sit nicely with room to spare. I have a 72 litre Stainless
tank which by law needs to be in the boot or not exposed to the elements as
its of thin gauge making it halve the weight of the normal steel LPG tanks.
In not saying to go LPG but the option is there as it rids all pollution gear
and a 4age quad throttle body setup could be used with Oz made lpg injectors.
This in turn allows you to use a ca10de as you can state that A10 engines
are too hard to rebuild or get parts for which is under the guidelines
providing the power is equivalent or 10% more like its capacity.
The LPG fitter will pass whatever induction and exhaust you wish to run in
the name of getting the LPG to run properly and efficient as he sees fit.
If you decide to engineer it in the future when funds come your way or if
you want to go further then something like this might be of interest.
