Hi everybody it's been a while since i've been on the 1200 website. I was kind of relieved to be allowed to log in

I've noticed the car scene in Brisbane is almost non-existant these days… What happened? It seems like i took my eye off the scene for a little while and now it's gone! I know from personal experience that there are alot more police on the roads, both marked and unmarked (geez they have some great undercover cars at the moment) and the new 'P' plate laws are a bit of a pain in the arse, but gone are the days of seeing modified cars racing on the freeway and for that matter even seeing modified cars altogether.

Where did everybody go? Do people still meet up to show off their cars? Is the QPDC still running?

I hope that Datsun's will live on through the demise of the performance car scene, the carbon tax and anything else that can be thrown at it.

nah its happening all over australia currently.

modded car scence taken over by drifting etc. so its sort of morphed once again. gone are the days of classic cars and also a lot of people dont join the forums any more. they go to meets etc but paranoid about meets because of defects etc. thats from what ive seen in the scene anyway in melbourne.

most meets soon taken over by so called hoons then the police do a big sting and then it ends up on rubbish tabloid tv.

ive given up almost and just want a cruiser i can take to some hill climbs etc. seems the saner and road less hasseled.

yeah the brisbane scene is dead , u can go to harrys thursday nights & munchies on a friday night , but other than that theres no broadwater carpark anymore , no more highway racing on a saturday night on the way back from the coast like the good old days but it still happens u just gotta know who organizes it , it happens on thursday nights now , yep qpdc is still going mostly 1600's tho

And of course datsuns will live on

Police impounding and crushing cars under anti-hoon laws... that kinda takes the fun out of it.

Hey it has been a long time no see. Yep QPDC is still going, not to many 1200 any more.
The good old days, aspley maccas, river side drive, brendale, board water car park the list goes on. they were the days.

Did any of you ever go to the skids at the narangba indust av?

Bridge to no where, thats it. The biggest night there was on anzac day 2002. 100s & 100s of cars.

theres no police on the road in melbourne, at least not in the dirty west... just camera's
