l20b block is inch higher to allow for longer stroke
if you look at timing cover is extra bolt compared to l18

As Nick said with 20mm taller l20b youll need sidedrafts but
the L13/14/16/18 are better fit and with L20b crank will give
a serious stroker. Bakat in your case if you can get the any
L13/14/16 then you can use the l18 crank straight in.
if you bore the L13/14/16 bore of 83mm to 85mm & use the L18
crank you get an L18. Plenty of meat for this.
Which is more avail your way the L13,L14 or L16?
I prefer the L16 sleeved to 87mm and use the L20b crank if
for my datsun 1000 as Im limited to 1.6 for turbo.

i got an l13 and an l16. my l16 was freshly built.

l14 is rare here, same with l13. l16 is plenty (we got PA10 SSS and 510 SSS here). i know i can just put an l18. but i want to use the l13 block because of the rules and regulations and remember what i said earlier? anything above 1.8 will kill you (pricey roadtax lol).

Thats cool you guys got the L13!
Try this calculator if you dont know of it yet youll like it.

L13 with L18 crank, rods and 85 bores is all you need
to stick it up those beaurocratic capitalist A-wipes!
L16 fresh is a nice Jigga!

i have to use this 83.5mm piston as i cant find any oversized 'standard' piston for my L16. now that i know the L13 can be bored and stroked, i just have to find a smokey L18 for cheap. the head is W53 though, port matched to the twin hitachi.

Id just stick with the l16 since its reco.
You could build the L18 on the side if you
find an L18 engine.
