Any other engineers that would consider the weight
of the deluxe model for passing it?
It will cost money again but if one person wont move
then it best to find another.
Once you have a good relationship with one you can
then do others without the issues.

Starting a new club for the sole purpose of registering a couple of cars seems a bit over the top.
As Vice president up here I have seen the paperwork and BS involved and the ongoing paperwork etc ,Just don't do it.
We got club rego on my ute and used it as a test to make sure our clubs systems were in place.
The process was simple, the scrutineer filled out the form the club made up,no RWC etc.
It did not need an engineering certificate as the scrutineer deemed all modifications as safe.
So I believe clubs should be able to ok most sensible applications.
Having said that I think our club and most other reputable clubs would baulk at someone off the street joining up with the sole intention of registering a lethal weapon.
I know it sounds like a wowser approach but a news story about a 19yo wiping out and killing 4 spectators at a street drag was a member of local car club for 3 weeks and had just got a vehicle registered by the club which could not be registered by the normal process would just about kill the system.

My approach to you dilema would be firstly give your partner a big hug .Then join a car club and trailer the car to a few meetings. This would give the club an idea of your intentions and an idea of what the vehicle is capable of and is safe.
Then make approaches to them regarding club rego.
From memory you were going to motorsport stuff at some stage anyway and you could eliminate some bugs in a safe environment.
Good luck with it.
Cheers
Bob
