I can't explain exactly what I don't like about it...but it just doesn't hook into corners as much as I'd like

Actually I know exactly what you're taking about; first check the toe, second what "set" of sway bars are on the car, finally what spring rate on the front. The sensation of the car never taking a set is not uncommon, the front is either too stiff or it has a butt load of toe in.........double check the camber as well.

Thanks mate.

As previously stated I do not know what seat bars and the spring rates.

Planning to re do everything from scratch.

Can anyone tell me if they think my conversion idea would be better with 120y struts and why? Or do you think the standard 1200 strut would be better?

Personally I think stanza /200b are the go, due to the choice of aftermarket shocks you can cut the struts down to fit. The 120y is easiest with the kev rowley brackets for the s13 250mm rotor and caliper conversion.

Will the S13 rotor fit over the 1200 hubs?

I'm a little confused...

In the "Strut Swap" Tech Wiki article is reads...

"The Silvia S13, S14 centre bore is 68mm and the 1200 hub is 70mm at the disk seat".

However in this post..

I used disk brake strut and drum hub.

Basically the rotor doesnt fit over the disk hub but does the drum hub. Disk hub is 52mm wide and drum hub is 47mm wide so thats 5mm less its pushing out track
All the innards of the hubs are identical and use the same wheel bearing so no mods there.

What is the actual size of both the Datsun 1200 Disc and Drum hub and what is the size of the center bore of the S13 rotor?

Does anyone know if there are any differences in calipers on S13 CA18DET, SR20DE and SR20DET? I know SR turbo uses bigger 280mm rotor but are the calipers the same?

Trying to source some for my conversion just wanna make sure I get the right ones.

here is a pic of my SR one I sold a while back, the mounting lugs are the same on the knuckles but the brackets on teh callipers push them up to fit over the disc. My mate never got back to me about the piton size but I suspect it's begger than a my CA ones since teh pads are larger, check my photos.
