G'day all,
It's not long now until I venture stateside for a holiday (March 13th-20th) and seeing as the AUD/USD exchange rate is in this lil Aussie's favour, I was wondering if anyone can recommend any Datto A-Series spares/parts stockists in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas for me to visit? Ideally I'd love to find a B10 guru, but it's not the end of the world if such a merchant exists.
I'd also be keen to visit places that sell Watanabes, new or used.

Cheers!
Alan.

congrats alan

unfortunately, no B10s were sold in USA, and I know of no gurus except in Japan and Australia. silvia-specr is the only american I'm aware of that owns one.

A-series specialists are few and far between, there are no shops. There are some racers/machine shops with parts, but I don't know any in LA/LA or LV.

You might make contact via email or PM with our club member specialists like matbighat, leosnake200 and rallytwit.

Watanabes are extremely expensive here (e.g. used $800/set or higher), there likely are shops in LA that have them.

There are 5-speeds in LA wrecking yards $200-$350, but are getting scarce. Maybe you'll be fortunate and find one.

You can also find Electronic Ignition distributors, very common for $35 to $100.

You might stop by the SR20 Store in Gardena, the owner I'm told has a 1200 ute with an SR20DE in it.

Thanks for that ddgonzal-san, I didn't know that we pushrod fans were such a dying breed and was completely unaware that the B10 never made it to North America (my sincere condolences!!). Thanks for letting me know which club members to contact as well.

Hunting for a 5-speed might be on the agenda, as they're like hen's teeth down here, it all depends on freight cost I guess... and if I can bring myself to "modifying" the perfect floor of my baby!

I discovered the annual "Datsloco" swapmeet whilst surfing yesterday, such a shame I won't be there for that as I would've taken the drive up the coast to attend, even though it appears to be biased towards L-series models and their descendants.

Not much that is rare at all, just a front distributor A12 from my coupe and the 3n71b automatic to go with it. Have a pretty good radiator and a rebuilt downdraft carb that was on the motor. I won't be using the A12 anymore and definitely don't want it going to the scrappers. The motor has the head off and WILL need machine work, but it did "run."

Have the H145 that came out and it's in good shape as well as the auto tail shaft (I refer to it as a propeller shaft).

Don't blame you if you don't want any of it, but thought I'd offer.

Bugger! I was hoping for a response like, "I have a pair of DCOE's with manifold to suit..."! Haha!!
Just kidding... Hey thanks for the info of what you have too. Unfortunately I have no need for the stuff you have, but I'm sure someone here will, especially Stateside.
I had a look at your shop's website, how's the coop coming along? I'd love to see it! I'll try and make time to drop by when I'm in town (I'll be in Vegas March 15-19) and say G'day.
