keep your pipes and supercharge it, sc12 or sc14 youll climb steep hills on 4th gear.
Single SU or stromberg with supercharger will tear up the bitumen.

For under 1000 dollars you can buy the SC14, SU and make your own supports, pipes and pulleys from wreckers. Spend 300 more on tuning it.

Supercharging is great fun. Loads of usable power, and really easy to tune.
I'm not really sure what the attraction is with an su though? For a blown set up, a fixed jet carb is much easier to tune.

SUs are so simple they personally beat most things for ease of tuning, one of the guys I arranged the chin spoiler purchase is from the mightyboy suzuki forums with one of the most powerful sub 800cc mighty boys Ive experienced, it has a 1.5 inch SU and his work where they fit older minis and all kinds of older cars with a certain brand of billet superchargers they mainly prefer SU carbs with their product over injection from scratch. This little thing just rockets away keeping up with the subey Rex victorian club's best through the twisties through the Dandenongs.
