Got a new tailshaft a fair while ago now

Just bolted it up into the car and I think its too long. There is only about 5mm of yoke sticking out back of box. Tailshaft supplier reckons this will be fine as the gap will increase under load.

But took car for drive and box is getting hot and its pushing oil out through the breater (I think)There are no noises eliminating from the drivetrain and I dont think the box is over filled.

Opinions?

should have more than 5mm!, under suspension bump (travel up) the shaft will need to push into the box, i think 25mm is considered ample in normal cases

That was my thoughts

If there is too much yoke in the box, can it rubb in the back of the box or something like that?

i think from what im told its most likely to blow the rear seal, but i've never had the problem myself, it must hit/rub something at some point

[edit] actually im sure you can put yoke in all the way, the fillet at the end of the yoke would rub against the rear seal once its in too far... hence blowing seal
