hi after my manual conversion my brake light stays on its not affected if the brake is applied or not i thought it was a faulty switch so i swapped it with a know working one but still stays on even with ignition off so i had to disconnect the switch.

due to it being a auto originaly i jumped the neutral saftey switch in order to start the engine and i used the existing wire for reverse switch could this have hany affect on the brake light?

Thanks!

The wires or terminals on the switch aren't touching or one grounding on the metal of the pedal is it? Happened to me once

The little 'lozenge' in the brake pedal that the switch sits against has broken. They are a brittle plastic & break easily. To confirm this check where the switch touches the pedal, there's probably a hole that the switch goes through. This causes the switch to open the circuit & the brakes lights come on. The easiest way to fix this is tape a small coin over the hole so the switch has something to close the circuit. I use a 5 cent piece & some insulation tape myself.

I bought the little pack of plastic "christmas trees" from Super Cheap. They are a flat disc with a plastic pinetree looking thing on them, normally used as trim clips etc. Little bit of cutting and it works perfectly.

I have the same problem, for some reason my brake pedal sticks the slightest bit but and it affects the engine idle and the light stays on. Don't know the fix.

The idle issue may be vacuum related as the booster needs vac signal from my understanding.

Another reason I hate boosters on old cars.

Yea I've always suspected the booster has been dodgy. Could be part of the reason why my brake pedal sticks a tad?
