Hi all, a freind of mine has a 1200 ute that he wants to put a 5-spd in. Since the Datsun A-series 5-spds are a bit hard to come by, I suggested maybe a celica 5-spd. My question is: Does anyone know of a company that makes a bellhousing to adapt the celica box to an A-series ? or does anyone have a bellhousing they want to sell ?
Thanks for any help or info you guys can supply!
Cheers, Shane

Yep its dellow engineering, they can be found at http://www.dellowauto.com.au/main.html
they charge about $600 for the conversion kit then about $150 for a yoke and new rubber mounting. The 5spd you want is out of a celica or corolla, dellow do rebuilt boxes for about $700 i think. They are known as the 2T and 3T gearboxes. have fun.

Thanks for the info fellas! Once again the 1200 club has helped me out. That kit may be a bit too expensive for my mate as he's on a pretty tight budget but I'll let him know. Thanks again.
Cheers, Shane

Main differences are: Toyota box is basically unbreakable behind any A-series, better standard ratios (and more available through TRD if required), better shift action, and the price!! I have 2 Datsun five speeds but am very happy to also have a 3T and Dellow for one of the race cars.

I would also say its near on un breakable by anything ! heck they use them behind drag cars... so having said that unless your pushing a good 400-500hp you should be safe :)

if you are pushing those numbers behind an A series you deserve to break at least one box, and when you do you could get the supra bo cos they do a kit for them i think
