ernie, does the front-sump KA oil pan actually hit the stock crossmember, or are you trying to go extra low with the engine?

Stock 1200 and transmission is angle 5 degrees front to back and rear axle pinion angle matches.

The support is underneath. I'll have to take another photo.
The KA will not fit with the cross member there at that height. The Z24 did not either. That's why is I modified the Z pan to make it fit in. I'm not going to modify the KA pan.
The KA and Z do not sit the same as an A series motor. They are different.
This Mod is going to get done. Soon!

I got my mockup motor in. One thing I learned that a bare engine block connected to the tranny does not balance well on an engine hoist. Even with an engine balancer. The tranny was way to heavy so it was hard to manuver.
I will have to modify the firewall again. The KA engine head stick out to the rear a bit more than the Z motor.
Im going to have trouble getting that exhaust header in. The Room is tight.

You can see that the pressure washing took off my black paint. I cant wait to go through the wiring as well.

I got a look at it. Looks like an exhaust header. Interesting.
I've done nothing to the car since the motor was placed in for fit. I had some more house work to do. I'll be back at it shortly.

Finally got a chance to build some new motor mounts. I basicly shortened the KA24DE mounts by 1 inch. They stuck down way to low for the cross member.
What I did was cut an inch off of them and check fitted them with the spare block that is sitting in my car. I then check fitted them on my good motor to make sure they did not interfere with the supercharger or oil filter. I them tack welded them and them finished them up on the shop floor. The drivers side one welded straight up but the passenger side I had to lift up a little bit so I had to do a little more welding on it.
Tomorrow, I'll mount them back on my mockup block and finish the mounts common to the crossmember. We'll see how far I get until more house work has to be done.

1. Modified passenger side mount compared to unmodified drivers side mount.
2. Fitted onto block and tack welded.
3. Both mounts modified.

Not sure exactly what you want a picture of? The timing cover is on the motor complete.
No work today on it. I had house stuff to do. Maybe tomorrow.
