Hi mate check out www.sportseats4u.co.uk. They have a wide range and yes they are in the UK but I got prices off them a while back and it was only $290 for freight.

From the Seats article:
Quote:
In Australia, seats must be mod plated (conform to Australia Design Rules). Be really careful when fitting different rails to different seats, like Datsun rails to Toyota seats. Reportedly, Engineers have said it is very difficult to get them mod plated, which all aftermarket seats have to be. You really need to spend some extra coin and at least get an engineer to design your fabrication. Then have th4 engineer do the work, or you can do the work and have the engineer to mod plate it for you.

In Japan, Bride seats are popular.

In other countries, Recaros are big favorites but they are among the most expensive.

Comfortable? That rules out most popular seats -- all the racing type buckets and stock buckets.

I think you'll have to try them to figure out what's the most comfortable for you, too much variation amongst people'/ reference, height etc.

A lot of the cheaper seats at Autobarn and similar places are quite hard and can get pretty uncomfortable after a long trip.

I have a pair of early Recaro LS seats and l find them to be pretty good, I'm happy with how they feel and how they look once in the ute,

Other car forums would be good to search for them, especially sites dedicated to cars a similar size eg MX5 forums or something. eBay and Gumtree like most things is always good for a staring place to look.

I have reclining bucket seats in my 1200 ute. Of course there is no room to actually recline them, but they fit in well.

honestly, im well ove six foot and have an extra kilo or two on me. IMHO if you're over 5 feet and 60kgs forget about almost any seat other than stock haha.
Consider having your original ones reupholstered.
You're best off going to your local race store (ie. revolution race gear here in melb) and sitting in their display seats, have a flick through their catalogues while you're there.

I'm 6' 1" and 190 pounds, and fit into Bride buckets OK. But my wife and my friends would not fit. So I put stock coupe bucket seats in my ute and am much happier. Easier to get in and out of too.

Yeah im bigger both ways again lol. My ute was sweet when i begun working on it when i was 14 now being 17 a little larger, perhaps not one of my smartest moves haha.

Either way, you can't go wrong with standard seats!
