You guys with anything over 200HP what kind of boost are you running (in PSI)? What is the most boost you have heard of being run in a 4 cylinder
turbo engine these days?

I heard about 5 years ago of a 4 cylinder turbo dragcar running 56psi doing 7's.

In the 1950's there was a supercharged car running over 80psi. Those of you that are motorsport lovers will know what car this is.

as for boost i have no idea, however, i know that mareospeedwagon ran something rediculous like 30psi in short bursts for the street
on his A12.

At the moment we are playing with a SR20,EJ20(SUBARU)and my FJ20
They all have variable boost controls in the cab and both the subi and FJ20 have secondary boost buttons. We run about 1 bar
(14psi)as first stage
and lifting to 2 bar upon hitting the button
NOTE all these engines are dedicated LPG

cheers

Hey, dattofj20, I don't want to start a Subaru string so could you e-mail me (dimlight65@aol.com)? I have some questions about a turbo for my Scooby-Doo. Sorry, it has
air conditioning and my 1200s don't. At least it isn't a weak-assed US spec WRX. 227 horsepower my butt!

Well, the carmag tests I've seen of the WRX put it less than 1/2 second behind my 230hp 510 in the 1/4mi. Pretty darn good for a modern
affordable car these days.

That may sound good, but have you actually driven a new WRX? My mom, dad, and brother test drove one and they said it was nothing special at all, of course the dealer wouldn't let
them rev it over 4,000 rpm he must've been too scared it would break...now that shows confidence in what you sell!!!

Does anyone know any places that sell forged pistons for the A-15 besides NISMO? I'm looking for something .020" over, and not over
$400 with everything. Thanks!

We've had WRX's down here in Australia for about 5 years now. They have a huge following here. In fact the fastest WRX in the world is Australian, Tony Rigoli's 10.03 @
143.5 mph. They have amazing roadholding and are very popular with car thieves, and 'ram raiders'.. on a rainy night a RWD V8 police car has NO chance of catching a WRX.

"...of course the dealer wouldn't let them rev it over 4,000 rpm he must've been too scared it would break...". You're hypothesizing here, maybe the last test driver he allowed to rev
past 4000rpm put a car into a tree so he's a little gun-shy... I DOUBT it's because it would break!

It's impossible to judge how fast a car is -especially a turbo one - if you're only allowed to spin it to 4000rpm! The salesman's ignorance or paranoia got in the way there.

How many cars can you rev to less than 4000rpm and still have fun?

I haven't driven a WRX (yet), but I have been in an Impreza RS (only 165hp) and it was a fun little car. It also depends on what someone is looking for in a car.

We're probably going to trade in our 2000 Maxima SE next year, and the WRX is on our short (and it's the only non-Nissan) list of repalcements. Others are the SE-R Spec-V and the new
Altima SE.

Even w/out driving one I'd put on in a "fun" test vs anything else in it's price range.

In the US anyhow, it's one of very few new cars offered today that looks good on paper, much less in real performance. It currently has ZERO competition in the US right now.

dont worry about not being able to rev the wrx past 4000rpm as the only have a relativly small turbo that is junk after about 4500rpm, just take it for a test drive and keep the
revs below 4g and whats that fifth gear 100k's an hour still can take some pretty fast corners which is one of its strong points. u can still piss off the car salesman
numbnuts
