Can somebody help explain the difference between the late an early x members?

Im assuming because the LCA are different it's probably wider or different at the pivot?

No its the mounts for starters with late ute one, one engine mount is higher than the other as later A12 etc.. had different mounting points on the block for engine brackets. early Xmember had just 2 high mounts.
