I find the manifold is the most expensive part of EFI. I can buy all the EFI parts for around $200, except manifold which is $200 for DCOE manifold or $350 for A14E manifold.

injectors/throttle bodies - $100
manifold -?
air filter setup -$20
throttle cable setup -?
sensors (temp and air flow or pressure) -only need coolant temp $16 but a wide band o2 controller + sensor is advised but not essential $200 lc1
ecu -ms1 kit $157 ms2 $278 kit
ecu wiring -$67
fuel pump -vl turbo $70
another fuel pump -only need 1
surge tank -defiantly a good idea but not essential
wiring of fuel system -$70 for a ms really bored kit and about $3 worth of wiring
2 x fuel filters -$20-$30
bung in exhuast for sensor -$12
electronic ignition or pick ups - not needed use your current set up
coil to suit -should have it on your current engine
fuel return -hard fuel line is cheep but just say $20-$30
tuning -free just your time

its still cheep for a quad tb set up as it has a tps, injectors and fuel rail but may need a fuel psi reg. i was going to get gsxr tb's but something more nostalgic came up.

i agree with those prices mostly - which is worth noting that you have assumed that the owner is doing all this work and has the tools and skills to do it (which is ok in my case)

but omitting the manifold is a big one, thats gonna require a custom manifold, i'm thinking theres a hell of a lot of hours making your own or $500+ in that

and.. why would you setup injection to run fuel only, may as well stay with carbs, it's too much effort to go to - to inject a car without bothering to control spark also

True and this sort of a project is not going to be for the masses but that is how it can be done on the cheep and many people have done fuel only with great success ( myself included ) altho if i had to give any advice it would be to go with ecu controlled ignition to begin with as its not that much more expensive or difficult to set up.
I think pretty much any one that is willing to have a go at fuel injecting there car would probably have a go at making a steel manifold but ether way you go wether its a standard a-series, l-series or custom efi manifold you will need all of those parts listed at least, so it is still a good option for a cheepISH efi set up.

The manifold doesnt need the injector bosses with these TBs already there but Megajolt would be the only option however for under 1000aud its possible and end up with a better efi unit than original A series.

Im trying to make the leap, so far the megasquirt (not megajolt mistakenly stated) seems the best bet pre-made ready for install otherwise theres no way Id be going there.
