I am thinking about a Bosh 044 fuel pump to supply fuel to my CA.

As the 044 pushes 3 bar of pressure almost double the original nissan item. Will the standard fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail be able to cope with this?

Will it fail to function when I start the car when it has no vachume from the manifold. Causing excess fuel to be forced into the intake by the injectors? Due to the increased pressure.

I have never had any experience with Denso regulators so I dont know how it will preform. Should I bite the bullet and install a aftermarket unit such as a Malpassi?

Cheers ... Jarrad

Buy what you can afford. A WALBRO Pump from Ebay in the USA is a better deal.

Pressure is pressure. The regulator works it's hardest at idle.

I've only heard people who've spent money on an aftermarket regulator talk about how good they are. The standard one will be fine to get it going, if you find it a problem, it's easy to replace.

Rising rate regs are mainly for good for people who can't get bigger injectors for a good price,. or people who like a very smooth idle.

I've just saved you $300. How about you sign up for the $1/month "save Datsun1200.com" fund raising drive.
