As Iv said before I built it how I wanted.and majority of others love the car too.i really don't care about the engine swap I'm no Datsun enthusiast nor do I really care about the brand I just like the shape of the 1200.so chopping it up and changing engines made no difference to me.to a Datsun enthusiast they probly won't like it but most people in the modified car scene love it.and that's the reason it was built.to take to summernats and powercruise and be a nice streeter.wonldnt do that that in grandpas old 1200 with plastic hub caps.no back to the point.post pics of people's thaughts on the best 1200s built :) would love to see some other really nice 1200s :)

Datsun 120Y sleeper

I'd take this "Grandpa/Grandma" Spec Datsun over yours any day. I too agree with all others who do not like your car, not to my taste at all.

I find it strange that you state you are NOT a Datsun enthusiast and do not care about the brand yet you post on a "Datsun enthusiast forum" asking what competition your up against in order to determine if you have the best Datsun in Oz???

You state that you built the car to "your liking" and so if you like it then that is all that should matter. Get off your high horse and don't get offended when not everyone likes your car because we won't be the first or last group of people to think so.

This thread is exactly why I haven't post any progress on my ute as there are people that think their way off doing up a car is the only way and think that to be a Datsun enthuiest it has to be jdm or classic style.Sometimes we have to bite our lip and not say anything otherwise it ends up a #OOPS# fight.

Datrotor that wasn't what I meant im just saying in general that their are people that think everything is wrong with a build because its not jdm or granny spec.Mine is going to be highly modified to.

you said right there in your first post you only want to see what you're up against because one of the goals of your build is to be the best 1200 in the country.

If you don't want your car to be judged, why would you try and build the best in the country? It has to be judged!
