I got my datsun rolling again but i notice a noise and that the gears are not enganging at the right rpm. Could this be related with the gearbox oil level that is a bit low? Can i refill through the dipstick checker?

Thanks

I found that the vacuum controler in the gearbox isn`t connected to anywhere, can this be the cause? where do i connect in my A14?

Yes that will cause shifting problems.

1. Check fluid only when hot, after driving for 10 minutes. while engine is running

2. Connect the modulator to the intake manifold vacuum

On an auto engine there is a boss on the top of the rear most intake manifold runner.
A 180degree hose feeds a hard line that plugs into the right angle hose in your picture.

It can be connected to ANY manifold tap. Bottom, side front or top does not matter.
