Hi there im Rui Machado 32 year old from Portugal and i just bought a imported Datsun 120y pickup de 1978 RHD (originally from South Africa and imported to Portugal by 1983, thats why its called 120y and not 1200...).
I only have it for 3 weeks, first thing one week stopped and the battery died (for the info of the previous owner its an old bat, need to be replaced)

were are some photos:

Things to do for now is fix minor things and run it , and enjoy it

In time i want to change:

- Insert the front Datsun badge (Already offered by a friend, just need to pick it up and mount it)
- Install fender mirrors, already bougth them from ebay

- Eliminate bad painted white strip
- Get some new wheels, searching for some 6x13"
- remove those tuning carpets, but need to cut the new ones because of the gas pedal

Congrats to the founders and the ones maitaining this site, because has lots and lots off info!! Thanks

Another thing i forgot, where to get a cover to the cargo area, and how much to expect to pay for it.

Haven't seen a ute with the bench seat before.

Good luck with it.

Congratulations Rui! I like your plans for the ute. I am in a similar situation as I just took delivery of my 120Y RHD yesterday!
