Yesterday was the maiden voyage in my "refurbished" rig. The only time I drove it in the past 3 years was on the chassis dyno this past January!
Verdict-goes like stink! Hauls ass! Lots of fun.
Ask the dude in the Firebird how quick she is(ALL THEY SAW WERE 1200 TAIL LIGHTS BABY!)
My girlfriend-Saint Gina, thinks it's the coolest-and that's what matters most to me-finally something to show for all those long nights/weekends in th garage!
Check out my www. for some more recent pics!

Great news! Donnie, think about coming down to Blue Lake next month June 13, we'd love to see the car. Last year it was the largest gathering of 1200s in North America.

Actually, the whole reason I took her out for the shakedown run was to get it prepared for the Blue lake meet!
I'm helping a buddy of mine with 320 and 610 pick-ups so he can travel with me too.
I'm really looking forward to meeting up with some of the members of the site and talk to some 1200 guys.
Hey dd, you gonna be there?

I'm planning on going to Blue Lake. Wouldn't want to miss seeing another 2-dr sedan.

Right on! I get to meet 'The Guy"!
Yes, the tires do hit the wheel openings-quite hard on the front. The pics on the www. were the "before" shots. I had to cut wedge shaped pieces from the front of the(fiberglass) fenders so there was clearance enough for steering. I'm gonna have to put some flares on the front though-pretty hard contact over bumps and hard braking... no biggie.
As far as the strut brace-me and a buddy fabbed it at his shop. It's 6061 aluminum with threaded ends with brass pipe plugs. Took about 4 hours all said and done.
I wanted something that looked like it was strong.Probably a little overkill, but what the heck?
I added the cage to the car for stiffness-it's only a four point. Looks cool too. I built the car for the street mainly-but it'll probably find it's way to the dragstrip sometime soon.

That's a "Wink" full-width mirror like they used to use in NASCAR.
