Do you need a special type of fuel line to run E85 or are the fuel lines at the local repco etc suitable?
I have read that modern fuel line is fine and also read that it isn't, anyone know what the answer is.

Repco or similar will have what you want. It will be printed with E85 or ethanol compatible.
Cheers.

ptfe tape (aka plumbing tape) is fine if you're careful to keep it to the thread that mates. There's a loctight that does the job (we have it at work but I can't remember the number). A thin film of gasket silicone will also work as will a decent epoxy. (I've successfully used all 3 sealants.)

If you use the silicone or epoxy give it 24+ hours to cure properly before pumping fuel through.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about the fuel line, just keep an eye on it. If it's not compatible with ethanol it'll either swell and soften or shrink and go hard, neither are likely to fail straight away if the hose is in good shape.

I have used proflow E85 compatible hose and fittings when I did my fuel system. Also the hard lines are alloy but coated internally to be E85 resistant most important thing you need is good fuel filters e85 will strip whatever rust or loose stuff is in you fuel tank and lines and block things up very quickly. Also don't use paper element filters as they swell Ive again used the proflow ones that have removable stainless filters inside that you can clean.

You don't need any tape for fittings.they seal them selves.you just need a copper wash for tge pumps.best to use teflon lines and stainless filters
