Ok - to start with, if you look carfully I had to remake a piece to mimic the 15mm flat section at the edge of the guard ( it was too rusted to weld to ). I've cut away the the inner guard about 20mm up from where it origonally joined the outer, then cut it in a similar way to then bend it up to meet the outer guard about where the flare starts. This will give me greater wheel travel clearance and when its welded back and will brace the panel once again.
The outer edge of the newly flared guard will have a 4mm round bar welded to it to give a nice edge and strength/rigidity.
Will be doing both rear sides at the same time to keep it as uniform as possible, then move onto the easier (?) fronts in a similar manner.
The plan is for the finished guard to have a 'similar' look to the standard one with the 15mm flat vertical section all the way round. ( well thats the plan anyway!)
It may not be the 'right' way and there will always be 'another' way, but it's the way I want to do it - so we'll see in the end

PS: once they're finish it will be lowered as much as it will allow without scraping
