I did a similar notch out on the gearbox mount, then welded in a reinforcing plate plate with a 35 hole in it so I could keep the reverse switch. Only thing is I had to make a cover pate with a small hump to fit over it, hardly noticeable under the carpet.
looking good - yeah you need air con in WA

New update

Fresh up on the e15 dizzy as the mechanical advance was stuck
Air con all hooked up cold on the lowest setting

And picked up a h150 3.8 ratio new old stock crown and pinon set so it might end up in the ute for more legs down the highway

Mmm, aircon sounds nice.

3.8, isn't that what most H145s come with? I see your ute came with H145 for some reason, then you swapped an H150 into it. H150 4.11 gears is quite rare, most are 3.889 or 3.7.

very nice

Got a 4.1 h150 now
Thought in the past to put the h165 in but not worth it to high rev even with a 5 speed
Revs at 3k on the highway in 5th

Be lower when i put the other one in nice and cruize
