Hello. I Have a B210/120y.

I'm After the rubber strip that goes between the firewall and the grill in front of the windscreen. I will pay postage. I'm in Ringwood area.

I Have twin webber carbys that produce a strong petrol smell which comes straight in when the heater is on. Not nice, I've tried ebay for after market rubber and they have everything except the rubber I'm after.

Thanks, Jordan.

This piece?

Nissan part number 68824-H5000 Cowl Seal

It may be the same as the B110 piece, if so you could cut it to the shorter length used by the B210.

I'd be double checking my fuel pressure , needle and seat, and float levels aswell. I just threw one of those seals out unfortunately .

if it were fuel pressure or needle and seat, the carbs would be flooding and it would be running like #OOPS#. Better off looking for leaks, but webers often mist fuel out due to reversion or stand-off or whatever, so it's common to get a bit of a fuel smell.

Shouldn't be too hard to find something at clarke's rubber that will do the job of a cowl seal.

yes that a valid point , there is nothing mentioned about how the car is running .but there is obviously pretty strong smell, so the seal will help but still may be not actually fixing the problem . I have had floats that have been bent and work fine 95% of the time and randomly stick for a short amount of time.

Fume Control is a multiple cause issue.

Hi, thanks for the replys. I didn't know the proper name for that rubber but now I do. Yeah the car needs a tune up, but even when it's running good I get the smell, I've been missing that rubber for years from when I painted the car. And for years I've been saying to my self to fix it. I Bought a rubber strip from clark rubber and it cut the smell down alot but the proper rubber looks better.

Don't forget that your positive crank-case pressure will generate strong fumes and smoke. The rocker cover outlet and crank case vent will generate the most fumes and these need to be either plumbed back into your intake or taken through multiple filters or catch cans to reduce the content. I have seen some people plumb the fumes out to the underside of the cab but generally you ought to try to send the fumes through the engine to be burnt and turned into exhaust.

Particularly on tired engines you will find rocker and crank fumes to be excessive and strong.

It's also a good idea to check all your firewall grommets for leaks and seal. Also ensure your exhaust is snug and tight, all of these contribute to a smellier engine.

I'll put up a link if I come across any of those seals you speak of.

Thanks for the advice. I will have to check where my rocker cover vent goes. I Think it just goes to a catch can without a filter. Grommets are all good but I found out yesterday the the rubber seal around my gear stick is split. Have ordered another one on ebay. But I hadn't considered what you said with the rocker cover vent. That will be my next task.
