Why replace the throttle body? It comes with a two-stage one, good for top-end power and also good for low-speed power. And will make 92 horsepower.

The Datsun TPS can already tell if you hold the throttle to the floor (it has full-throttle detection). The stock ECU has no problem with flooding, but if you go to an aftermarket ECU you might want to change to a generic type of TPS.

Thanks DD I'm thinking aftermarket. I found a stock a15 ecu but no loom. I suppose I could make one as the connectors are quite large but just tossing up between the two :)

hi! Just wondering with this photo http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=21839 if I'm not connecting the EGR stuff will sensors A and B still function or will I need to relocate them to somewhere else?

Thanks,
Tom

To disable the EGR, just plug the little vacuum hose. For a cleaner look you can remove the valve and create a blocking plate, also remove the EGR Tube and block the hole.

A is for EGR
B is for the ECU (water temp sensor), you will have to relocate it should you remove the EGR Passage.

On the pcv port, is this full manifold vacuum? Looks like it may be, but it shouldnt. Carby pcv goes to the air cleaner, so a slight vacuum.

You might be thinking of something else. PCV is connected to full manifold vacuum.

Here the PCV is screwed into the manifold plenum on a standard A12

On the EGI engine, it screws into the rear of the manifold plenum

For EGR, if that's what you meant, I would leave it connected and working. Less work that way. If you wish to disable it, simply pull the small hose off the valve and put a plug in the hose.

I like to keep it simple in order to get the engine up and running as quickly.
