Thanks very much David really appreciate the advice. It makes sense

Does that also mean things like vvt can just be blanked off?

VVT is part of the EGR. To disable EGR, all you need to do is plug the little hose at the EGR Valve.

The crankcase ventilation, if connected to full vacuum, would either suck a vacuum into the crankcase (bad) or create that much flow through the oil filler cap it would run like a pig (bad), or many other scenarios (all bad). I suspect neither of these ports are full vacuum.
I cant put pictures on here as I am not that savvy, but google positive crankcase ventilation.

There is no flow though the oil filler cap in Datsun's positive Crankcase Ventilation, all Datsun A12s use a sealed oil cap. You may be thinking of the Datsun 1000, which use passive Crankcase Ventilation and flowed air through the oil cap.

Please read your Datsun owner's manual or service manual, it clearly explains it. The PCV valve itself includes a check valve limiting the amount of air that flows through it. Here's a diagram out of the Datsun 1200 Factory Service Manual:

Water temp sensor is an input for the Datsun ECU.

This is the VVT Valve

Threaded hole is for EGR Tube fitting. If you don't need to use EGR, just let it be. As long as the EGR valve is in place it will not leak.

Thanks again David! I might see if I can find a short bolt with a thread the same size and block it up

Braided hose is probably water outlet. if you're going to use with a dry cylinder head, just leave it disconnected

Compare to Throttle Body, figure "E"
